To change any aspect of a tenancy you must first identify and select the associated property. From the resulting view of property details select the "Tenancies" tab. This tab will list all tenancies associated with the property. Then...
- Identify the required tenancy
- Click on Action "Edit" (Pencil Icon) to the right of the identified tenancy.
- Add a new row to the the Rent Component Table (found in the middle). Ensure that you do not modify the existing rental values as this will retrospectively modify rents that have previously been applied. You'll be required to specify the date the rent increase / decrease will commence, the new rent value and both the tenant and benefit components that make up the rent. (Note that the rental value must equal the sum of the tenant and benefit components. If the housing benefit is not applicable the set the benefit value to be zero and ensure that the tenant compnent equals the rent value)
- Click on the Add button to the right of the Rent Component Table.
Note that variations of the rental value of a tenancy must coincide with the first day of a rental period
